When Should You Replace Your Professional Blades?

Having a well-performing tool is an essential part of the job for any barber or stylist. The following are conditions that may require you to replace your professional clipper or trimmer blades.

  • Dull blades (will pull hair)
  • Rusty blades (causes sticking)
  • Broken or bent teeth on either blade (always replace both)

Blades should always be replaced in sets. A blade set consists of one moveable top blade and one stationary bottom blade. It is highly recommended that you keep at least one set of blades for each type of working tool in your shop. Reminder: it is important to properly maintain your blades with proper cleaning and oil.
